AJ VAONA is more than a new label – it is the culmination of a lifelong dream, brought to life by Justine Mongeard and Alexandre Carminati. Justine, daughter of the renowned Mongeard family of Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret, and Alexandre, a seasoned expert in viticulture and cellar management, have poured their shared passion and decades of experience into this elegant new project.

The name itself speaks to their soul:
“AJ” – their initials, and “Vaona” – the ancient Gaulish name for Vosne-Romanée, a tribute to the land that shaped them.

Working from the very cellar where Justine’s grandfather, Jean Mongeard, vinified his first vintages, AJ VAONA blends family heritage with a precise, modern touch. Their style is notably more refined, pure and elegant – a graceful contrast to the more opulent style of the family domaine.
