In the world of Grower Champagne, a new generation of vignerons is rewriting the rules, and Emeline De Sloovere stands at the forefront of this movement. Based in the Coteaux Sud d’Épernay, Emeline represents the 5th generation of her family’s estate, yet her vision is decidedly modern, bold, and deeply ecological.
A Holistic, Natural Approach
Since taking over the 8-hectare estate in 2016, Emeline has pursued a rigorous "Démarche Naturelle" (natural approach). She has completely eliminated pesticides and herbicides, instead planting cover crops and fostering a biodiverse sanctuary of trees and flowers. Her commitment extends to the cellar, where she avoids chemical inputs, masters the use of composts, and practices parcel fermentation in small wooden barrels, concrete, and stainless steel. This hands-off philosophy preserves the wine's natural purity, texture, and honest expression of the terroir.
A Trailblazer in Sustainability
True innovation sometimes lies in the smallest details. Emeline De Sloovere has made history in Champagne by being one of the first producers to eliminate the traditional metal and plastic neck foil, replacing it with a recyclable paper band. This minimalist, symbolic act reduces environmental footprint without compromising the wine's protection. Her packaging is equally thoughtful—featuring an elegant, feminine aesthetic with unique abstract drawings on recycled white paper, leaving each label open to personal interpretation.
