Some of the best discoveries in Burgundy happen away from the spotlight—on quiet side roads, in small family cellars where passion speaks louder than prestige. That’s exactly where we found Domaine Truchetet.

A Sixth Generation Finds Its Voice

During our sourcing trip to Burgundy last February, our team had the pleasure of visiting Pauline Genot from Domaine Truchetet. Since taking over the family domaine in January 2019, this dynamic trio represents the 6th generation of winemakers, breathing new life into old vines while deeply respecting their heritage.

One of the most exciting developments we learned about is their commitment to Certified Organic Viticulture, which they achieved in 2023. Starting with the 2022 vintage, Pauline has also brought in family vineyards from Saint-Romain and Auxey-Duresses, promising to expand their already impressive range.

A Premeaux-Prissey Surprise

During our tasting, we immediately understood why wine critic Steen Öhman of Winehog called them exactly that—a surprise. This is not a fancy domaine chasing Grand Crus. Instead, Domaine Truchetet focuses on what many consider “lesser” appellations: Côte de Nuits Village, Bourgogne Vieilles Vignes, and Nuits-Saint-Georges Village. But make no mistake—these wines are anything but lesser. These are “vins d’émotion” – wines of pure, hedonistic pleasure. We were charmed by the Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Blanc. 

Morgan, Julie, and Pauline are making a powerful statement: terroir-driven Burgundy does not have to be unapproachable. Their wines offer authentic Nuits-Saint-Georges character—earthy, mineral, and fruit-forward—at a fraction of the cost of neighbouring names.

Whether it’s the structured Nuits-Saint-Georges Vieilles Vignes or the joyful Bourgogne Aligoté, every bottle from Domaine Truchetet tells a story of family, organic farming, and honest winemaking.
